A group of several fire fighters decided to form an honor guard in September 2017. The department felt there was a need for formal group of fire fighters to attend fire department events. The group of fire fighters had to undergo training, which was conducted in parking lots and gyms, with time donated by local businesses. The team hold drills and practices frequently to maintain and improve skills. The duties performed by the honor guard are to present colors at memorials, funerals, ceremonial presentations, parades or special community events.
